Week of Monday, August 31

Five clips — one a day

Mon A finished panel, before and after The old crowded one next to the tidy new one. This is the single best-performing shot in the trade — people who know nothing about electrical still understand it instantly.
Tue A generator install or service visit September is when people start thinking about outages. Unit on the pad, the transfer switch, or a tech running a test cycle.
Wed Anything that looks bad Scorched breaker, melted outlet, a rat's nest behind a panel cover, something that got wet. Ugly is the content — it always outperforms tidy work.
Thu A tech explaining one thing to a customer Fifteen seconds of the actual conversation at the end of a call. Not a pitch — just what you found and what you'd do about it.
Fri The crew at the trucks, start of day People hire people. The team photos have been the strongest thing we've posted all month.

Five rules, and that's the whole brief

Nobody needs to be a videographer. If a clip breaks one of these it usually can't be used.

  1. Hold the phone upright. Vertical. Nothing matters more than this one.
  2. Ten to twenty seconds is plenty. Short cuts better than long.
  3. Say what you're doing in one plain sentence while filming.
  4. Get the customer's OK before filming inside a home — and no faces, house numbers or mail without asking.
  5. Send it the same day. Clips that wait in a camera roll never arrive.

Why the clips matter more than anything else we make. Real footage from real jobs outperforms everything else, by a distance. Nothing produced competes with an actual Craddock tech at an actual panel.

Two a week from the crew would cover a third of the month on its own — and those are always the posts that get shared.
